Hi, I'm working on a book for children of foreign-born parents, and
I'm interested in hearing the experiences of foreign mothers and/or fathers who are raising their children in the US. I'm particularly interested in the use of language: if your mother tongue is not English, do you talk to your child in your mother tongue or do you prefer English? Does your child respond in your language or English? Does your child have questions about your language, your accent, your country? What kind of conversations have you had about this with him or her? Any anecdotes or funny stories? I would appreciate any feedback. If you have questions or comments, please reply directly to me: caguilera@myway.com If it's easier for you and you want to give me your phone number, I would be happy to give you a call. Thanks a lot, Carolina Aguilera |
