Default Cirque Hawaiie - Follow-up Report

Here's my opinion of the show I went to see a show on the 9th while
on
Oahu. Place was virtually empty. Most acts were good, but how they are
threaded together alludes me, but then several of the Cirque du Soleil
shows do the same for me. I just look at these as circus acts, assuming
you're old enough to remember circuses.

As for seating and pricing, definitely don't spend the big bucks for
front seats unless you enjoy looking straight up a lot and moving your
head
back and forth. You are so close, even 2/3 the way back that you can
only
focus on one performer at a time when sometimes there are more than one
in
an act. And don't expect the quality of Cirque du Soleil (I think this
was
mentioned before). Several acts are on a par but a couple are way
below.

Enjoy it as entertainment and look for discount tickets through
brokers
(without the timeshare pitch attached). The whole thing starts slow,
but
winds up with a lot of enthusiasm by the last act. With audiences so
small, I doubt it will be around through the fall unless they can get a
lot
of tour bookings.

Thanks, Dan

Seems like it's worth checking out.

Especially for non-english speakers. But the Japanese
tourists are down 15% this year.

Dan, thanks for the Cirque critique (whoa, say that four times really fast<G>
). I've seen a few other Cirque-type shows and most were good, but could be
faulted if compared to Cirque Soleil's better productions.

Sorry that it isn't drawing larger crowds. If it is still around in Sept, I'll
have a look, and thanks for the tip on the seating. I hate to pay major $'s
only to find that the guy in the cheap-seats had a better view!

Appreciated,
Hunt
