Is this true? First Hawaiian Bank is French owned?
I know that Union Bank here in CA. is Japanese owned, but the French
in Hawaii?

Yup, 'tis true -- they're owned by BNP (Banc National de Paris). I think it
happened after FHB bought Bank of the West (or visa versa), which was the
real target of the BNP acquisition -- I think they picked up FHB by
accident.
