10 US soldiers were reported wounded in Iraq today.
In addition, we are adding 3 killed and 5 wounded amongst US troops and civilians in the Iraq War, some during the leadup to the war. The prewar casualty total and the US civilian total will be ongoing subprojects for a while, as they are pretty hard to track down. June 18 US troops were attacked with a pipe bomb dropped from a roof on their patrol in Baghdad. No reports of casualties. June 20 Experts are now reporting on the Shiite strategy in Iraq. It is not that they love the Americans, it is more that for now they are content to let the Sunni fight the Americans on their own. The Shiite wish is that the casualties will force the US to leave Iraq, then the Shia can take over. Same experts also describe most Shia leaders as close to the Iranian clergy. June 21 Just being reported now, a US Humvee in a 2-Humvee patrol was ambushed at the Baghdad airport at midnite. There was an explosion on the driver's side followed by gunfire. The passenger and the driver were both hit and wounded and the attackers escaped. June 22 More on the 2 attacks on US forces. The attack on Khan Azad was with an RPG; they attacked a Bradley armored vehicle, the last truck in the convoy. The wounded soldier is in bad shape. Also, there appears to be another wounded soldier in this incident so it is really 2 wounded. The attack in Hit, said to be caused by a land mine, was actually possibly caused by a roadside bomb. In Ramadi, US troops in a convoy of 2 tanks and 4 Humvees were attacked by inaccurate automatic weapons fire that spattered the dirt around their vehicles. They saw a young girl running away holding an AK-47. They followed her home and found the weapon wrapped in a red dress. They released her later when they learned she was 12 years old! LOL. Unbiased observers are now stating that is almost certain that a majority of Iraqis are supporting the resistance. A US official at Bagram Base in Afghanistan, said "Everytime we leave this base, we are in a war zone. We are shot at here everyday, several times a day." That is just one base in Afghanistan, and these attacks are never reported to the public. Even massive Bagram was considered too insecure for a Rumsfeld visit recently. US soldiers are supposedly very nervous and trigger-happy in Afghanistan lately. June 23 A Humvee in a US convoy were attacked with an RPG in Khaldiya, near Habbaniya, Iraq. 1 US soldier wounded; the attacker escaped. US troops in a convoy were attacked in Habbaniya, Iraq with 2 RPG's. No casualties. US troops guarding the power plant in Fallujah were attacked with RPG's and automatic weapons again, with no casualties. The power plant was hit once again by enemy fire. The mayor's office in Fallujah was attacked with an RPG again with no casualties. The attacker seems to have escaped. 3 American soldiers were wounded yesterday when a grenade was thrown at them in Baghdad when they were visiting a wheelchair shop after raising money to help a disabled Iraqi boy. Possibly the same incident, but we are uncertain: Foreign journalists watching a rehearsal of Iraq's national orchestra said three U.S. soldiers standing guard across the street from the rehearsal were wounded when a grenade was lobbed at them. US soldiers were attacked again in Ramadi, a now-daily occurance. No word on casualties. A US convoy in the Baghdad neighborhood of Al-Zawra was attacked during the night. A 15-minute firefight ensued but there was no word on casualties. The Iraqi resistance has reportedly been attacking power stations, sewage and water systems, according to the US military. ********************************************* Additions to the US casualty report totals: Army Pfc. Spence McNeil will be added to KIA, as news reports are starting to list all those KIA in the operation, not just in active combat, as killed in the Iraq War. He was killed in Saudi Arabia before the war. In addition, the following will also be added (all will be added to Iraq War totals, but not to totals since March 19): Spc. Brian M. Clemens killed in Kuwait on February 7. Army Sgt Michael C. Barry, 29, killed in Qatar on Feb. 1. November 22, 2002 attack in Kuwait by Kuwaiti police officer, wounding 2 US servicemen. Human shields Shane Claiborne, Cliff Kindy, Weldon Nisley, US citizens, will be added to the wounded. Their vehicle was attacked as they were leaving Iraq for Jordan at the start of the war. They were headed to Jordan, driving the desert highway, when they were attacked by the US Crusader thugs in jets for no reason. -- As of 6-24-03, in the past 97 days, since the start of the MIP*, the US has suffered 1,125 casualties in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Djibouti, Colombia, Israel, Palestine, Pakistan, Yemen, and Jordan - 228 killed, 894 wounded, and 3 POW; or 11.8 casualties and 2.4 killed per day. For the MIP*, there have been 1,030 US casualties, 1,025 Crusaders and 5 US civilians - 202 killed and 828 wounded, or 10.8 casualties and 2.1 killed per day. The British have suffered 40 killed or missing - 37 British Crusaders were killed; 1 British civilian was killed and 2 are missing; the British Crusader wounded tally is unknown. A rough though incomplete estimate of Iraqi civilians murdered in cold blood by the Crusaders is 7,243. There were 52 US casualties in the past 10 days, 10 killed and 42 wounded. 39 of the 52 casualties were in the MIP*. A good analogy for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would be a teenager (Israel) killing a kitten (the Palestinians) with a hammer, with the American press reporting on the horrific, monstrous scratching and biting ("Palestinian terrorism") inflicted on the poor victimized boy by the kitten in its frothy, howling, frenzied death throes. *Massacre of the Iraqi People, also known as the Iraq War I support the Palestinian People's Party: http://www.palpeople.org/english/ |

Your reasoning is quite illogical, and it is sophistry of the worst
kind. How does Vietnam fit in? -- As of 6-24-03, in the past 96 days, since the start of the MIP*, the US has suffered 1,144 casualties in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Djibouti, Colombia, Israel, Palestine, Pakistan, Yemen, and Jordan - 231 killed, 910 wounded, and 3 POW; or 11.9 casualties and 2.4 killed per day. For the MIP*, there have been 1,049 US casualties, 1,041 Crusaders and 8 civilians - 205 killed and 844 wounded, or 10.9 casualties and 2.1 killed per day. The British have suffered 46 killed or missing - 43 British Crusaders were killed; 1 British civilian was killed and 2 are missing; the British Crusader wounded tally is unknown. A rough though incomplete estimate of Iraqi civilians murdered in cold blood by the Crusaders is 7,246. There were 63 US casualties in the past 11 days, 10 killed and 53 wounded. 50 of the 63 casualties were in the MIP*. *Massacre of the Iraqi People, also known as the Iraq War I support the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP): www.pflp-pal.org (often hacked) |
