Do you know that the first GAA games used soccer-style goals and no points?
That the 1916 rebels made the world's first radio broadcast? That Ireland
today officially has 29 counties? That the Act of Union was not repealed
until 1983?

Do you know Mrs Doyle's first name in Father Ted? The most-landed-on Irish
Monopoly squares? The TD who argued that daylight-saving time would confuse
the cattle? The publican who cleared his pub by playing a taped recital of
the Rosary?

Do you know that Bertie Ahern said "We shouldn't upset the apple tart" and
"We're not going to hang anyone on the guillotine"? That Sheeba's fan mail
included: "I've got a big farm. I'd like to marry the one in the middle. Are
you interested?"

The Irish Times writes.
"Once you start, you can't stop. it's as if David Lynch had edited Ireland's
Own."

The Irish Star on Sunday writes that it is.
"Chock-a-block with Irish trivia, from the craziest things the FAI has done
to the Irish-based members of Hitler's Nazi Party."

Father Ted creator Arthur Mathews says.
"When people used to ask 'Where do you get your ideas for Father Ted?', I
wish I'd had this book to show them."

Fintan O'Toole calls it.
"This hilarious, witty, intriguing and subtly devastating compendium of
oddities, absurdities and fascinations."

Gerry Ryan of RTE says.
"I've described it already, off-mike, as one of the best jacks books in the
world."

One of the rare posts about Ireland and you rebuke the man.

Hi Féachadóir,

I too dislike net abuse.

I consciously kept the above announcement well within the Breidbart Index
for quantifying excessive multiple postings, from the FAQ 'Current Usenet
spam thresholds and guidelines', as posted to news.admin.net-abuse.usenet.

Please email me off-list if you have time to discuss it further. Perhaps you
can let me know if I have made any miscalculations, or if there any other
spam calculation formulae that I am not aware of.

Thanks,

Michael

Féach@d.óir says...

****off - Who appointed you Almighty God?

He's perfectly entitled to advertise Irish related wares in a clearly
labelled post on a one-off basis.

Wanker!

Given that the Breidbart Index is widely accepted, I think we should
follow it as a guide to spam.
