Do you mean a Viking with an erection might not have been selective?

Dare you to repeat that on soc.culture.nordic :-)))

Curiously enough, Orkney is the only northern-most place that which does
not figure in my "Y" chromosome DNA. Mann, Shetland, Ireland, Iceland,
Greenland Inuit, Norway, Sweden but no Orkney... The women must have
been sincerely unattractive... or maybe there were only sheep there at the time...

Literally it means "Man of the Bay"....

Take your own advice.

Why do you believe that those who go on raids in the summer cannot
also have a farm located elsewhere?

Not as farfetched as you might imagine.
The Cherokee (Tslagi) Nation of North America use a swastika identical to
the Basque swastika in their 'religous' motifs.

I believe the arms in the Cherokee symbol are reversed from the Nazi
swastika.
Is the Basque symbol reversed as well?
Another note of interest, the Manx three legged symbol is replicated in the
Sicilian flag.

The Nazi swastika is a reversed and quarter turned version of the
Hindu svastika (svasti = well, su(tika) = being) - a good luck and
religious symbol. Adopted by Rudyard Kipling, often printed on the fly
leaves of his prewar books. Also a Chinese character meaning luck.
(Buddhism, an offshoot of Hinduism, is a major religion in China.)

The correct word for the symbol is a "triskelion", ultimately from
Greek "tri skelos", meaning three legs. The Sicilian version seems to
express the hopes and aspirations of the Sicilian people...

Probably came from Vikings sailing to Sicily in order to do business with
the Mafia.
The Franks did own Sicily once upon a time, did they not?
