Irish NOT "White"?

I am British, born in London (Scottish parents) and living in Dublin.

I am surprised tha no Scot has objected to the term Scotch being
applied to them. It is rather like calling Irish "Paddies" or English
"Poms".

We have Scotch Whisky (no e) but the people are Scots or Scottish.
