the con argument:

mexicans have no right to flood into US without permission. it's one
thing to have immigration in manageable numbers so that the newcomers
can melt into the larger culture. but when they come rushing in like
they do across the wide SW border, mexicans are trespassing into
american territory. it's like bums walking into our backyard.
also, mexicans are taking away opportunities from the poor all over
the world. yes, it's true that mexicans take menial jobs that american
whites and blacks don't want, but they are still taking jobs that
countless millions of poor africans, asians, arabs, south americans,
etc. would gladly have rather than being stuck in a stagnant, corrupt,
oppressive, poor nation. there are millions of poor scrounging off
garbage in india. these people would thank god forever if they could
come to US and wash dishes for the rest of the lives or drive a cab.
and, though their jobs may not be glamorous, they can hope for the
future of their children. so every job an illegal mexican takes--no
matter how menial--is a job taken away from arabs, africans, asians,
hindus, etc. if we really care about diversity, then we need
affirmative immigration to make US reflect the diversity of the world.
if hindus make up 900 million, why should there be fewer hindus than
mexicans in the US? if america is suppose to celebrate the diversity
of the world, how comes it's mostly just whites, blacks, and mexicans?
some diversity. since US already has plenty of mexicans, why not
build a great wall of america across the border and bring ethnicities
underrepresented in america? how many maori americans are there, for
instance? or tibetan americans? or indonesian-americans? calling
to stem the mexican tide is called isolationism and xenophobia by
progressives, but i say let's build the wall not to end diversity but
to practive true diversity by bringing in more underrepresented
ethnicities from countries far more poor than mexico, where they'll
gladly come to US--and legally--and work as dishwashers, janitors,
cabbies, and floormoppers with great gratitude. also, they'll be less
likely to be anti-american since they won't have the mexican grudge
about southwest really belonging to mexico and because they'll be of a
wider diversity of people who can't form into a single political
entity like the mexicans.

the pro argument:

mexicans are the ideal immigrants. for one thing, they come and go.
when there's something that needs to be done, they come and work. if
nothing much is happening in the US, they go back to mexico and fiesta
with the money earned from gringo. also, compared to other immigrants,
mexicans are pretty cool. asians come here to do menial jobs but their
kids are soon taking up half of UCLA and harvard. who wants that shit?
do you want the elite universities taken over by geeks? do you need
all this extra competition in engineering, science, medicine, etc? i
mean white folks have lived in country for 100s of yrs and suddenly
they're outperformed by some asian geek who's just gotten off the
boat. don't these asians know they are supposed to rise slowly?
mexicans move up the social ladder more slowly and so are less
threatening to the gringos. then, what about africans? for
chrissakes, have you seen what's happened to every city taken over by
blacks? ever been to detroit? ever driven by the black parts of every
big city or even a small town? what's up with that shit? black
africans will come here and assimilate into shitty african-american
culture of stupid machismo, skanky ho-hood, and other infantile
idiocies. also, if reparations are doled out to negroes, i'll bet
newly arrived africans will demand da pieca pie, too. also, blacks are
pretty tough, and we don't need more blacks folks to kick the white
boy's ass. mexicans and whites are about equal in physical strength so
mexicans are not a threat to white manhood. so mexicans are cool in
that sense. then, what about the arabs? freakin' a, the last thing
we need are more freakin homegrown terrorists. and islam ****s. france
has enough problem with these male chauvanist bomb tossing pigs. and,
the russian jews? look, jews already run the media. allow more jews
and they'll run everything. compared to all these arseholes, mexicans
are pretty nice. and mexicans girls are plenty cute.
also, mexicans have a moral justification to cross into southwest
anytime they want to since they didn't voluntarily give it to us. we
took it. yeah, we stole it, so mexicans are not really crossing over
into OUR country but their own, which they lost. so when a mexican is
going from mexico to texas, he's really going from mexico to mexico.
also, mexican food is damn good. we need more such mexican cultural
influence.
also, mexican cinema in recent yrs ranks among the best in the world.
i'll take that over hollywood.
