Jabalpur, September 14
Bharatiya Janata Party chief ministerial candidate Uma Bharti on
Sunday called Chief Minister Digvijay Singh a "Satyanashi Purush", and
rubbished the Congress' projection of him as "Vikas Purush", saying
that Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi was doing much better than Singh.
She said MP is lagging behind Bihar in a number of issues including
power cuts and infant mortality rate.
Bharti said social justice in present context means "roti aur ijjat"
(bread and respect) for the other backward community, Arthik
Atmanirbharta (financial self-sufficiency) for women and sammaan,
surakhsa, samriddhi (honour, security and prosperity) for Muslim
community.
Addressing the BJP OBC cell workers conference held at Manas Bhawan,
Bharti said the Chief Minister has given 27 per cent reservation
because he was alarmed by the rise of political consciousness among
the Kushwaha, Yadav, Kurmi and Other Backward Community.
The Congress has betrayed the OBC, dalits and tribals by not raising a
dalit person to the post of Chief Minister which it promised to the
people during the last election, she said.
Bharti said no chance was given to the dalits on next higher rank to
Chief Minister including Chief Secretary and Director General of
Police in MP.
