Default spam flood, again

the flood seems to have slowed on my end ........
Hopefully it's come to a stop. Does anyone know where it originated, the
motive etc?
Cheers,
Scot.

My guess is that they think that they are attacking Microsoft.

Frae Auld Bob Peffers:
The worm that is contained in the posts has been around for some time now.
The increased numbers now seem to be due to certain so called, "Hackers",
clubs. As to motives - these would seem to be just about the same as those
who spray paint on walls or who burn down schools. Except the spray painters
may, depending on your point of view, have some artistic merit and the
school torchers the excuse of mental illness or retardation. "Hackers", do
not have such excuses. Anyway most of the activity seemed to come from,
"Script Kiddies", who lack the brains of real Hackers but make use of the
programmes the hackers wrote.

Frae Auld bob Peffers:
Hi Sally,
The reason the messages are coming from, "all over", is the way the,
"i -Worm", virus works. It contains a little programme that, if it gets in,
scans for addresses in the, "Host", computer. It then posts a copy of the
message to every address found on the Host Computer. So if there is valid
addresses attached to a message sent to you then it is probably from an
innocent person who's machine is infected without them knowing about it. The
originators falsified the addresses they used to start that particular ball
rolling.
