Default Where's Glasgow

Yes, _I_ know where it is - but reading today's online Scotsman - well,
_they_ seem to be a bit confused!

<http://www.thescotsman.co.uk/index.cfm?id=853872003>

TWICE in the same article, Glasgow is referred to either as being 'south of
the border', or in England. Have I missed something? Is there another
Glasgow? Did Glasgow secede from Scotland and join *ngland?

I already do, in spite of having grown up with The Scotsman, and having
been born in Edinburgh!
The Scotsman and the Weekly Scotsman were once fine papers, and I didn't
much care for the Glasgow Herald.
The papers, and my opinion of their relative merits, have changed.

In article <3F328437.EB3DFF1E@which.net>, S Viemeister
<sheila.veimeister@which.net> writes

In the print edition, the first reference says "Around the country"
instead of "South of the border", while the second reference isn't there
at all.

But you have to remember you are reading a paper produced in Edinburgh
and it barely recognises Glasgow as existing at all, let alone knows
where it is.....

On Thu, 07 Aug 2003 16:07:49 -0400, I read these words from S
Viemeister <sheila.veimeister@which.net> :

We all have out crosses to bear..........

I *used* to read the "Scotsman on Sunday" until the editorial
went totally skewed several years back.

The rest resent being outclassed in such an obvious manner.

Unless born there ?

affectionate phrases such as, "Those b*st*rds from Glasgow" ?
