4 suspected traffickers arrested

People caught four suspected traffickers and handed them over to the police
at Nageswari upazila on Tuesday.

They also rescued a schoolgirl, Urmee, 14, daughter of Mainul Haque, of
Bamandanga in Nageswari upazila and a student of Class IX, from them.

The police said family members of Urmee along with the local people caught
Saiful Islam, 45, Khalid Iqbal 38, Shamsul Haq Khan, 58, and Abdul Ali, 42,
of Dhaka when they had tried to pick her up in a microbus at around 3:00pm.

House-wife raped

Lucky Begum a housewife of vil*lage Gosaiganj under Domar upazila was
gang-raped by a group of youths on August 16. About 8 pm Lucky was going
Chilahati Bazar to contact her hus*band through mobile phone who has been
working in Dhaka.

On the way four youths kid*napped and took her to a field where she was
raped one after an*other. Later Lucky was again going to Chilahati Bazar.
On the way near a bridge two youths took her to a bam*boo field where she
was raped rela*tives Lucky took shelter near a house. About 11 pm realities
of Lucky took her to the residence. Next day Lucky filed a case against 8
youths with Domar po*lice station in this connection.
