Default Bawden (pta-news) lies in: "They're free to be fossils"

Assigment:
1. Where is Bawden lying?

Note: According to the leftist IDASA 2/3 or more of White South
African will act in accordance with the call of the HNP: Not take part
in the election.

They're free to be fossils
Pretoria News - March 4, 2004

By Clyde Bawden

We almost didn't write this piece, because writing it might just be
interpreted as dignifying the tiny remnant of an ante- diluvian
political party that is urging whites not to vote in the forthcoming
election. We decided to write it anyway, on the basis that nothing at
all can ever dignify that party.

Even if you haven't seen the street posters, you'll have guessed that
we're talking about the Herstigte Nasionale Party. Its diehards have
every right, of course, to propound such nonsense, because we now live
in a democracy which allows all views to be expressed. Let them say
what they like.

Such was not the case when the HNP was in Parliament. The majority of
our citizens were unenfranchised, and could not effectively campaign
against that disability, while the HNP used its vote to try to keep
them silent. Now, defeated and dikbek, it is sullenly opting out of
any true participation in this country's political life.

Willy-nilly, it is therefore also denying itself all right to complain
if the country proceeds in a direction of which it disapproves.

The point about democracy is not so much who one votes for (although,
invariably, some choices are better than others) - it is simply that
one does vote. We have too much of a history in this country of either
denying votes or fighting for votes to let a tiny band of fossils put
up their appalling posters without being taken to task.

Answer:
1. Clyde Bawden lies about voting rigths!

Clyde Bawden in "Pretoria News" 04.03.2004 '...such was not the case
when the HNP was in parliament. The majority of our citizens were
unenfranchised,...'
This statement is a LIE as Bawden (a journalist) can be expected to
know better. In fact Blacks had voting rights in their Homelands. It
is rather so that white citizens have been effectivly dispowered by
adding an unlimited number of people to their group of people with
voting rights.
