Black Cubans-NAACP events on July 14 & July 15

Dear Readers,

Shortly after my article "Blacks of a Lesser God" (April 18) I notified you
of my intention to take action regarding black Cubans' repression during the
NAACP's annual convention in Miami Beach from July 12-17. This action will
assume the following forms:

1) Monday, July 14, noon: I will be spokesman for a press conference at the
Municipalities of Cuba in Exile (4610 NW 7th St,) where black Cubans will
discuss their persecution under the Castro regime and their expectations of
the NAACP vis-a-vis black Cubans' repression.

2) Tuesday, July 15: a vigil will be held in the evening on the southwest
corner of 19th Street and Convention Center Drive (across from the Miami
Beach Convention Center). The vigil will be in solidarity for black Cuban
political prisoners and Cuba's subjugated black population in general.

If you are able to attend, it would be a pleasure to see you at either
event. Please let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to
notify others you think might find these events of interest.
Best,
Myles Kantor
