Correct.You also have to consider the social and health conditions at
the time the Talmud was written-alot different than now.

Genesis says Methuselah lived 969 years. My Rabbi says that should be
taken to mean he lived a long time. Exagerration for effect was common
practice in the ancient world.Most people today don't know that.
