if it's fairly new, try a cd with mp3's on them...
so far in my neighborhood, i've found 3 dvd players and 1 car stereo
that played them, though the documentation/faceplate labels did't
mention them...
(i also have a toshiba 13" tv/dvd in the TT that is supposed to play
them but doesn't)
a lot of stereos that say "cdr/cdr-w computable" will play mp3's

personal use or use that does not interfere with the author's right to profit

Moreover, some players will play burned CDs just fine for a while.
Eventually, the laser may get slightly out of spec, or maybe degrades in
light intensity due to power problems or dirty lens, etc. At this point,
they will still play the more robust OEM CDs just fine, but start skipping
on burned CDs. Many people mistakenly believe this is due to their burned
CD going bad over time (which is also possible, esp. in hot car interiors).

right... and most folks that use cd-rw discs think that they're
designed for long term use, which they definitely aren't... the
actually degrade a little bit with each "reading" and are for
temporary or limited use...
(i use them to make mp3 cd's... when i have them the way i want them,
i copy them to cr-r discs)

buy a new cd stereo that plays cd-r's and sounds better than the dodge radio
put the stock radio back at trade-in time.
its a plug in installation even a webtv user could do.

I had a 94 ram 1500 and it played everything I put in it.
Cheap CD and all. I used Roxio CD Creator 4 and ver. 5. Someone needs first
to use a computer and software.

I burn at first 16 x then 40 x, still no problem.
Sounds like you tried to burn with a shitpot of things running in the
background and not enough RAM.
I run 98 SE with all the patches and 300 something of
RAM.......................RAM is everything with computers.
CDRW'S won't work.
