dodge transmission

have a 91 dakota 4x4, 3.9 v6, automatic. shifting lever on transmission will not stay in gear no matter what position inside shifter is in. when put in reverse and go about 5 feet--slams back in park by itself. does anyone have any advice or ideas. thank you in advance.
