Default Great Fly Swap 2005 update...

.....as of today 2 sets of flies are in my grubby little hands..received
flies from Dave Martel, and, of course, to set an example, mine are done
and didn't even have to mail 'em.

I should be able to finish mine off comfortably in an hour or two. Is a
woven caddis pupa with a cdc collar, currently nameless. It looks more
like an emerger, but I tend to Frog's Fanny them and fish them as a nymph

Frank;

Glad to hear they made it to you OK. Certainly was easy this year only
tying up half as many as usual.

Default Great Fly Swap 2005 update... (fly stonefly)

If it helps, I have almost picked the pattern I'll tie. I'm thinking a dry
fly or a nymph of some kind. On a hook. Definitely not a stonefly.

thunderheads are notoriously difficult to tie. i hope to be able to
finish in, oh, ten or twelve hours.

To clarify, that means an hour or two after I sit down to finish them, not
an hour or two from now!

Default Great Fly Swap 2005 update... (stonefly)

I originally planned to do a combination of two saltwater shrimp patterns Ive

tied in the past, but looking at the list a freshwather pattern seems more

prudent.

So Ill supply some kind of stonefly this year, given that Stan has decided

not to do that.

If Frank's up to changing his list, I've decided to do a little orange
sulphur parachute. Probably size 16 or whatever I have enough hooks for.
