It has been about five years since I was last in The Dog And Duck. It has
always had a problem with undesirables taking over the Pub, but most often it
is when the legislature is in session and it is overrun with legislators,
lawyers and lobbyists. sure drags down ambiance of the usual bunch of drunks. I
sure do miss the ribs from The Ironworks. Austin has always had an interesting
mix of music. still have not run into punk rock at The Broken Spoke yet, course
that does not mean it has not happened. I will always remember going to a Merle
Haggard thing at the old Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas when The Sex Pistols
opened for him. Interesting crowd. You can't make this shit up.

Ah, the Pistols at the Longhorn...I always thought that the principles
involved KNEW what was up with that...the Pistols actually had top
billing on the "Bullboard," and they let them set up, etc. I was only a
teenager, but it seemed even then, well, arranged.

FYI, there's a movie about that single tour, called IIRC, "Live at the
Longhorn."
