Default Western Conclave Update

I wouldn't go that far. I drive a little Mazda pickup over there
quite often and have only had one "problem" between Bozeman and Four
Corners in the last 8+ years. Damn deer jumped out in the road as I
was heading into the setting sun.... The real problem is when it
gets dark. If you drive sanely with your high beams on, you'll be
able to spot the eyes along the road and avoid potential
confrontations. 191 has fewer deer/elk once you get through the
Park, but it is a windier road that is slower going. The upside is
that all of the big rigs are now going to West via 287 and act as
"deer plows." I have driven this road many, many, many times and
think it is pretty damn safe if you are paying attention, driving
within 20 mph of the speed limit and blasting the radio with the
windows down.

I hear ya, Paul. The deer in our area are thicker than liberals on roff
I'm about ready to purchase a "deer vaporizer" for the front of my 2003 Dodge
Quad. A couple of years ago I hit a deer causing just under $5,000 to our 2001
Accord. You always worry about reliability after a major rebuild. I plan on
keeping this truck a long time.

And, Warren, I plan on attending.

I'll get you the name of a kick ass front bumper system that can
withstand hitting a large steer at 60 MPH without damaging the
vehicle. At least that's what they say.... Here's a pic of the
bumper.

Here's one to avoid though: http://home.earthlink.net/~troutbum_mt/wolfgiggle/wolfgiggle2.jpg

Glad to hear it Snoop! I apologize for slacking on the package I am
sending you. I think you will agree that it is worth the wait
though. :-)

You are too nice Warren! :-)

I have been thinking about heading to the lower Madison some day soon,
as the Yellowstone is still icey and always seems to be this winter.
Am curious about the road construction (they aren't doing any thing
now, right?).

BTW, I fished Armstrong's last week. No wind, overcast, in the 30's.
In other words, the ideal conditions for rising fish every where. No
hatch really, and the fish in the lower pool were barely rising.
Couldn't believe it. Had to resort to midge larva and an egg! Hate
to do it, but I did! There were some "spawning" browns and rainbows.
We fished the honey hole by where you park and none of us caught any
thing! Wow! 1st time for that! I didn't see the numbers of fish that
I've seen in the past.

Thanks Warren.

You got to be kidding me! I thought I was alone here! Darn near
added so many people to my kill file that I was hardly getting any new
posts! :-) In fact, this is the 1st time I've posted here in about 2
months! Been lurking though, of course.

We've hit two deer in the last 6 months. First ones in about 30 years
of driving. Like I said, we narrowly avoided hitting a herd tonight.
I am paranoid now and am not going to drive in the dark or at dawn and
dusk unless I have to!

That's the main reason I don't go to our TU meetings. 2nd is that
they start at 6:30PM and I am not about to start cooking our dinner at
4pm! Plus, there is the old guys with bald heads and pony tail factor
which I try to avoid when possible <G>

Thanks!

That is you Warren?? LOL! I see your boat a lot on the Yellowstone!
Always wondered who that NASCAR boat belonged to!

I've been pondering sponsorships for years. Just that I won't put any
stickers on my beautiful Clacka!! :-) Except maybe a yellow paintball
splat one <g>

What is with it with those guys? Do they not know how they look? I
know they don't often see the backs of their own heads, but they have
to see other pony tailed balding guys and be able to feel the skin
where there should be hair...

Might be cool when they get all the way to the monk's tonsure look to
have a 'tail, but not in that middling stage.
