Western Conclave Update (stonefly) - Page 3

I had one made for my Ford back in 81 by going to the welding shop and pointing
at the 8 inch channel for a start for the bumper and then went very substantial
for the grill guard. Never could buy overload shocks that were up to the
additional weight and it looked like I had lowered the front of the truck, but
I never noticed running over anything as long as I owned that truck.

I am still considering the ride up there. I wish it did not take me three days
to get there.

Yesterday morning I strapped a rod to the old BMW bike and took a ride to a
pond in a neighboring town. The new Temple Fork 3 weight gets a nice bend in it
with a 3/4 pound bluegill on. It was nice riding the bike again with no coat in
the 75 degree weather.

I think that's a Ranch Hand bumper. Kinda ugly but hell for stout. Looks OK
on a Ford though

We probably have more deer strikes in town than in the country. We really do
have an overpopulation problem. Folks in town feed the deer. Deer will lay on
the south side of houses and soak up the sun. It's impossible to have a garden
or grow trees and shrubs. I used to have some pine trees in the yard but the
buck antelope like to rub their horns on them and now there are no trees left.
I've had over 20 antelope in my yard on some occasions.
A couple of years ago, a semi hit 6 elk on I25 south of town. Yeah, paranoid is the word.

Our TU chapter is in Sheridan (although I think it's now inactive). But,
when they were active, the meetings were at night and it was a 70 mile round
trip for me. A slow trip because I drove 50-55 mph.
Nothing wrong with bald. Maybe the pony tails were just "comb overs" that
they didn't have time to arrange

There is not any road construction currently going on that I know of.
They pretty much quit around October/November and start up again in
the spring. You may want to check with some of the shops over here
before making a trip over to the Lower Madison. I haven't fished
there in quite some time and given the way things are, it could also be icy.

Sounds like a great day to be out if nothing else! There are not
many days over that way without wind.... <g>

I'm planning on spending the 2 weeks before the clave around
Yellowstone/Grand Teton, the week after on Rock Crick, and then maybe
down through the 4 corners region on the way back. I can do all that
with no manhattans. <g>

The boat certainly gets noticed..... The boat actually belonged to
George and was obviously used as adverti*****t for his business. He
let me borrow it the summer before he died and his widow asked me if
I wanted to use it again this past summer. I have become somewhat
attached to the boat due to all the good memories associated with it.

Might look cool to do the front as a shark mouth like they did on
those old airplanes. Or you could paint flames down the side and put
fuzzy "dash" material on the leg locks. You could even hang some
fuzzy dice off the oar locks.... Maybe add a hydraulic seat so that
you could bump and row. Hell, there are just too many possibilities!
