83 Ford Ranger 2.2L Diesel Won't Start

I have a 83 ford ranger 2.2l diesel with unknown miles that lost coolant
and overheated it died and will not start. When i turn it over it turns
very smoothly like there is no compression. There is no water in the oil
(but it lost coolant anyway).
