Default 1989 ford escort



i have a problem with a 1989 ford escort. there was no spark and then
engine wouldn't start so i changed the coil and there's still no spark
coming from the ignition.

any ideas?

Most likely culprit, you need a Ford distributor wrench you can get at
a pepboys to change it, plus the special heat dissipating compound or
else you'll cook the new one.

I agree about the TFI module but it would be a good idea to see if the
camshaft is turning. Take the distributor cap off and crank the engine
to verify that the rotor is turning. If it isn't, the timing belt is
probably broken. How miles on the car?
