Default 1991 f150 towing capacity



I recently got a 91 f150 two wheel drive with the 5liter v8 and i’m
tring to find out what the factory step bumper is rated at. It is not
marked any where that i can see. Can any body help me out????

Are you sure it is not stamped into the metal of the bumper in the
area of the tow ball hole? It was on my 1992....

The bumper rating is likely much lower the than the actual truck
rating. Do you know what options you have? In particular you need the
better cooling package if you plan to tow anything significant. Does
your truck have an external automatic transmission cooler? If not, I'd
add one if I was going to tow anything significant on a regular basis.

my 89 f250 step bumper was rated 500 pounds on the ball 5,000 pound trailer,
don't know if the 150 gets the same bumper.
The towing rating for the truck will depend on the transmission and the axle
ratio.
