Wow. Someone has serious Ford issues.

I own two 5.0's, and don't have a problem with any one who wants to tell me
that they're actually 4.9's. But you... Your whole post is "sore point."

I guess that every carmaker who has ever issued a recall, then, would be a
"liar".

I remember those ads.

"Our cars don't jump out of Park all by themselves",

This one, too. There was an '83 Bird parked provocatively
on a hillside in San Francisco, while a chorus of sassy
Supremes clones sang the hook.

Oh yes, the famous two-part ad during the SuperBowl. Imagine my
surprise when Sam Waterston got out of that Mark VIII, looked
the camera in the eye, and delivered that line! I trusted Ford all over again!

What amazed me about this one was the music licensing. "Never My
Love!"

You ask me if this car of mine
Could catch on fire for you
Pintos are safe,
Pintos are safe.

How can we make cars that last
When our own lying ass-
es won't drive... them?

I think this ad campaign was confined to print, for obvious reasons,
but Freddy The Fan was a great cartoon character. Remember when he
was going to fly apart about something... and in the last panel he
said, "WAIT! I'M A MOTORCRAFT GENUINE FAN, AND I WON'T FLY APART!"

Not ringing a bell.

But here's an ad you might want to consider - "Get back in the game
with Levitra." It's easier to let go of irrational anti-Ford sentiment
when you can obtain, and maintain, an erection.

So you deny some or all of the major Ford problems listed? Jumping out of
park, ignition switches and alternators catching fire, fan blades flying
apart, wheels falling off...it's all just a bunch of "irrational anti-Ford
sentiment"? Never happened, made up by the anti-Ford media?

Pfft.

I worked as mech. in ford dealerships from 74 to 82 and never saw one of
the supposed problems. I did perform all of the recalls though. None of
the customers was much conserned though. The only thing I noticed was the
pop out of park issue was always a driver not paying attenction and
making sure it was in park to begin with. So they were in trouble for not
making it idiot proof. Unfortunatully a lot of idiots in other areas of
the country though. KB

When I was a kid my Aunt had a late 70's Granda that used to come out
of park. After the first two times this happened, she started setting the
park brake.

Of course the one time she forgot to, the engine was running. I was
there, and watched my Father, 2 cousins and my uncle take turns trying to
get in the car. It was doing circules in the street in revrse.

Ford Ignition Switch fires have been a problem as late as the late 90's.
Fords have a bad problem with what is refered to as "wire shrinkage". Where
the insulation on the wires over time contracts. Leaving exposed wires at
the connectors. This was a major issue on our Ford F-Super Duty wrecker.
While it never caught fire, it would fry electronics for the Fuel
Injection, Alt, and wiring for the light bar.

I also had a 1988 Escort EXP that started smomking from the dash one
night. I found the culpert. The Headlamp switch. It burned the connector to
the point I had to splice in a new one. If I had kept driving I would have
had a dash fire.

None that I have ever owned have done that.

There is a recall on the ignition and some cruise controls, Never
happened to me or anyone I know and the alternator deal is with worn plugs.

Never heard of such.

Maybe not but you ARE trolling, or at least someone was. And you
did craoss post to a bunch of groups. And of all people Daniel, I'd
expect you to know that the 302 was called a 5.0 because Ford already
had a 4.9 straight six. C'mon, stick to the lighting issues....

Lots of others did. You're fortunate not to have owned one.

Yes, but not just because they don't work, but because they *catch fire*.

The fans were in the mid '70s; the wheels were the first few years' Focus
production. Matter of public record.

Pintos... Either you're an ancient fart who carries a grudge for decades, or
you're digging through the corporate trash trying to make some strange point
about Ford that could also be made about anyone else who's ever built an
automobile...

I think the former.

And is there a reason you are posting this stuff? Do you goto the
Chevy and Dodge truck groups and post about all their recalls also?
