One new thing I noticed was a market search console, but I'm not sure
if they are working. I found a new sword but when I clicked on the
item (on sale by a player if I read the signs correctly) a marker
appeared on my world map that was off the mapped areas of the world per
any map I could bring up (default, Dovves, Travels to Rubi-ka).

That is correct. To make enough cities (well, there aren't actually enough
now), without affecting existing tower spots, dyna bosses and unique mobs,
they had to build two new areas, Coast of Peace and Cost of Tranquility,
they are located south of Lush Fields. You can buy map upgrades for the
Playfield Map (PF Map)/Mini Map, but as of now there is no upgrade for the
planet map which shows the new areas...

Just come out at Lush Fields and fly south (if you are Clan, make sure you
are in your Yalm before zoning and fly straight up first, the guards at LF
will attack you). Once you zone south, you'll enter one of the new areas,
not sure which, then fly in the direction of the map marker.
