Game freezes when entering Pocket Plane for the first time ...
Hi all,
I have a strange and frustrating bug. I've taken an evil party
through to the end of SoA, continued on into ToB, and wiped out
Illasera and friends quite easily. The party reappears in the
Pocket Plane a moment later ... and then nothing happens.
To be precise :
- The Solar doesn't appear
- I have no control over the party
- The UI (character portraits, etc) is not visible, and can't
be made visible
- In fact, no keypresses or mouse clicks seem to do anything
- There *is* music playing in the background, and the animations
that your characters do when standing still are still going
(robes fluttering, characters swaying, etc).
Things I've tried :
- Reloading from different saves. All get the same.
- Created a new game starting in ToB - made it multiplayer, created
a few random characters, beat Illasera - and everything worked ok.
The Solar appeared and spoke to them, everything seemed fine.
- Clearing out the "cache" folder under my BGII installation.
Haven't tried :
- Reloading and fighting Irenicus again - not yet, because it's
Improved Irenicus and it was hard enough work the first time.
What I've got :
SoA+ToB+ToB patch
Tactics (most components)
Ease of Use (most components)
Kelsey
Tashia
Chloe
Conlan (a merchant who sells various IWD2 items)
Abysima (a merchant who sells very powerful items)
Valen
Unfinished Business
Spell 50
G3 Tweaks
G3 Anniversary
Item Upgrade
The party consists of PC (R/C), Edwin, Kelsey, Viconia,
Valen, and Sarevok.
(I got Sarevok right at the start of the game by using
the console and MoveToArea("AR4500"), then talking to him and
convincing him to join the party. I don't think I spoke to the Solar
at the time.)
Now, I admit that getting Sarevok to join my party like that could have
had something to do with the problem - but then how did the new game
work ok ? Especially after clearing the cache ? Are there any
variables I need to look at - maybe some variable to do with speaking
to the Solar already ? Can I re-create the Solar and reset it ?
Thanks,
David.
