BF2 1.4 Beta is unplayable - massive Lag

I joined one (of only 2 available!) server and had 200 ping, but my
rockets went through everything, hit nothing, but other could kill me.
Great! :-(

Observations on 1.4 patch:

- The new map "Jalalabad" is nice, although a bit modularizes/disjointed
to the flag points.

- Login and Verifying account still take *way* too long. (I go have a smoke)

- Removing vehicle drop in some areas is hardly a noticeable change.

- Aiming (zoomed) visual feedback still sucks (see America's Army(*) on
how to do it right)

- We still can't look to the side (strafe) while running. :-(

- Most of the issues buyers told EA/DICE about one year ago still

You should have prepared before:

rightclick game folder, chosse copy
on same partition, choose paste
"copy of battlefield 2" is created
rename each to switch between, for example:

"battlefield 2" to "battlefield 2 1.3"
"copy of battlefield 2" to "battlefield 2"

switch back

"battlefield 2" to "battlefield 2 1.4beta"
"battlefield 2 1.3" to "battlefield 2"

that's all
