In a senses we do get " paid ". We're helping make a game we play better.
Sure, EA/Dice should have had most of the bugs worked out before it went gold, but ya know. The EA suits are in a rush to make the $$$. Pay them first and try to finish the game 2nd. So anyhow, your payment for beta testing is a better game. EA/Dice would be forgiven if they convert BF42 and BF:V maps to work with BF2. Hell, I would even pay $10 for all those maps. But nothing more. |

BF2 1.4 patch not available at ea tonight.
to all: I found the patch after trying about 5 sites. got it installed
and I saved the 1.3 version in another folder. It didn't solve my problem, which I found out was due to the latest Nvidia drivers don't work on my system, ONLY for BF2 (weird shadows jumping all over the place and following soldiers and tanks around as huge rectangles with sharp edges, etc) . My video card mfgr suggested a stronger psu which I purchased but didn't use. I tried one last time to fix it with software and finally had success by installing some Nvidia drivers dated in early 2005. work like a charm. didn't change FR's either! so much for tech support! also used drivercleaner pro to clear out the old drivers before installing the good drivers. live and learn...
