Ok, I've let some of you guys in on the secret, but here it is for the rest
of you. I've "procured" another clan server specifically for Desert Combat
and Eve of Destruction. I'll post the IP and port ASAP. The server is in
New York (I think so!?!?), so it should ping fine on both sides of the pond.
(Hopefully)

I've got a few reasons for doing this.

1. Server provider - Gives us the chance to try out a different provider
and see how it plays and pings. We're testing a server from the same
provider WF uses, and I think we were all happy with the pings and times we
got from that one. If we end up dropping Wicked Servers we'll need another
and there are waiting lists.

2. Ends the whining about DC and EOD on the server - We now have 2 servers
to **** around with and play on. We'll run DC for 3 days, then EOD for 3
days, then DC for 3 days, etc. We can also use it for other things like
pictures, new mods, custom maps days, etc. Not sure how this will affect
the rotation on the original server, let's keep it as is for now. I need a
little feedback on that.

3. DC always seems to attract a good crowd on those days - It does. I love
both BF and DC and play both. I can't wait for the Vanilla days, and I
can't wait for the DC days. Now I can have both! Seriously, I don't know
how this is going to affect the servers as some days we only have 3 players
on, and some it's full, but we'll see what happens.

So there is is. I'm putting up the money for the first month. It's cheaper
(66 vs 88) than the current server. After a month, we'll see what happens.
We have enough funds for another 4 months on the current server as I'm not
using any donated money for this new one (doesn't mean I won't take
donations ). I can allocate split funds for both servers (total of about
$154) or take donations for each one seperately. I'd prefer not to do that,
but once again we'll see. I always have a huge surge of funds when I've
asked the group for it so I'm not really worried. We've got how many
registered users?

BTW - If it pisses you off that I've done this, boo hoo. I'm paying for it,
so you really have no reason to bitch. If it works well, we'll keep it and
if it doesn't, we'll can it. No sweat off my ****. I really enjoy this
group, hence my dedication to keeping it going, offering up new things,
keeping the creative juices flowing.

Server admins - Email me. This new one uses the BlackBag Opps 2.0 Server
Manager, so it'll take a little getting used to. I'll send you the IP and

Anyone who wants to make a donation to either server, my paypal is

don't want to start seperating out server payments as it's a bitch for me
and will start to divide the group.

Remember, we have plenty of funds right now. If you've donated in the past,
let some of the noobs donate if they want to. I'll let you guys know when
it's getting low.

Wow, fantastic, thanks Creamy!!!

Fantastic - if this works we can have maybe one server running vanilla
and custom vanilla maps, and one server running DC and EoD.

My initial reaction to running mods 3 days at a time is that it will be
difficult to keep track of - a 7 day rotation should be much easier to
follow - maybe DC 4 days EoD 3. Just a thought.


Would it better to post the info on the admin thread on the forum?
