I was playing Karkand on Straferight (sp?). Been trying to bring
myself to play Engineer more, so I spawn as a engineer at the gas
station. some guy promptly blows up the radar. So I fix it. Well I
try to, until the guy kills me. I punish for the tk, then go back and
finish fixing the radar. The dork then blows up the UAV trailer. I
run over and fix it as well. All the while I am waiting for for MEC
to show up to blow stuff up. In the meantime this dork blows up some
more people, and hits the trailer again. I fix it again, and get a
message to stop stat padding.

If some dork on your side is blowing stuff up and tk'ing, and you are
trying to keep the radar, UAV, etc. up and running does that qualify
as stats padding?

As it was, after a brief exchange with the commander I gave up on the
engineer business, and went back to my L85, and PKM. No kicks or
anything like that, just kind of annoyed me that I got called down for
stats padding while trying to fix dork boys mess.

Opinions welcome.........

We all know you were stat-padding, you were getting "team-work" points. No
one bothers with such things unless they are stat-padding. That's almost as
bad as trying to help your team win. (of course the only reason is to make
your win/loss ratio better.)

So a helo pilot who gunner is very good is a "stat padder" when he accrues a
zillion "team work" points as his gunner goes about obliterating the USMC on
Sharqi?

Keeping your commander assets operational is vital to winning a round, so i
have no idea how you can say no one bothers with such things, I for one
certainly repair the commander assets if and when required....hell i have
the Meritorious Medal for a reason...teamwork!!!

In response to the OP, IMO you have right to go about repairing your
commander assets even if they are blown up by a team mate. The consenus
should have been to remove the guy blowing up the UAV etc not labelling you
as a stat padder.

Personally i would have left the server.

I guess I will chalk it up to just one of those things. I would still
like to work on my engineer skills (don't have any). I'll just do it
on a different server.

I loving being SF or being a heavy gunner, however I find I can triple my
score per game as a medic with a squad that sticks together or just staying
with the action. The only thing, I do not find being a medic all that much
fun. Just running after dead guys. I rather score lower and have more fun.
(but being a good medic can make a squad 4 person unstoppable)
