Default Newbie needs editing help

I'm trying to create a scenario file for my wife to play. The map is
done and I've edited the rules, including adding a civilization for
her to play. When I try to load the .biq file, I get the message

FILE NOT FOUND

"#"

Anyone know what could be causing this message? It's my first attempt
at editing, so I'm likely making an obvious mistake somehwere. Thanks
in advance.

You need to add a Civilopedia Entry in the editor, for the Civilization you
added. The "Civilopedia Entry" is the header the game uses when it's
looking for all the artwork and Civilopedia text for the Civilization.

If you don't want to bother with adding in the artwork (done in the
Pediaicons.txt mainly) you should be able to reuse one of the regular
game's entries, like "RACE_Romans".

If you've added other stuff, it most likely needs a Civilopedia Entry too,
and some 'dummy artwork' at least. :-)

Damn, this is frustrating. I added an entry called "RACE_SURIYANS" to
the Civilopedia with appropriate links to technologies. I then went
into the Pediaicons.txt file and and created a "RACE_SURIYANS" entry
for each section, then copied in the links to the Russian artwork. It
seems like it should be working, but I'm getting the same message of

FILE NOT FOUND
"#"

When I try to load the scenario. I know it's the new civ entry, too: I
saved a copy of the same map and scenario rules without the civ, and
it runs fine. Any further thoughts? Something I'm forgetting? Thanks
for the help, Isak--I have a better understanding of how the game
works now.

You're welcome

Did you remember to add in the RACE_SURIYANS entry in the editor too, in the
entry for your new civ? There's a box called "Civilopedia Entry" in the
Civilizations tab that acts as the 'hook' when linking the entry in the
editor to the actual files. I think that may be the problem.
