Hi,

I'm an usa player in Generals (not ZH) and I have trouble beating my friend
(14 wins no losses online). He uses dodgy tactics which always seems to
prevail. what he does first up is not build tanks, but he just build tons of
base defenses, and i mean TONS, and once his defenses are up, he builds TONS
of migs plus 3 superweapons.

I play USA and to counter his migs i always put my first general point onto
paladins and save the second. I skip scout drones coz i know he's never
going to send in his tanks and he's only going to use migs and super and
nothing else. and USA has terrible AA. I expand as quickly as I can, go for
oil derricks first.

When he builds a super weapon i usually send 4 aurora bombers but I usually
lose them all (but hey they served their purpose), but I would be losing
around 5 grand coz 4 auroras are more expensive than 1 nuke silo. Another
way i found was to use particle cannon to wipe out his power plants then
send in aurora bombers, i still lose some but not as much.

Once I couldn't handle his migs and I sent in 4 screen full of
paladins/missile defender/tomahawks and I still couldn't break through his
defenses :S

Is there anyway to go around this? I can beat him once he runs out of money
because he never builds hackers, but any other alternatives?

Every bunker he fills with 5 Tank Hunters costs a lot of money and a lot of time
to create. If you're playing with default starting cash (10K), rush him with
some Hum-Vees or crusaders. You can find a way around almost any defense on
almost any map. If you're playing with large amounts of starting money, build
multiple factories and send in tanks - but do it *quickly*.

Otherwise you don't mention using either artillery (tomahawk launchers),
aircraft of your own to shoot down his (Raptors), or cheap hum-vees as AA (put a
couple of missile defenders and give them the TOW upgrade).b You should also try
building some superweapons of your own; the USA Particle Cannon has a shorter
wait time than the other two sides' superweapons and is especially deadly
against unfinished buildings and airfields.

Put some Raptors on CAP (click "guard air" then click a location) to shoot down
his Migs before they can get to your base. And before you send in those tanks,
use some Auroras to soften up his defenses. If you're sending in a lot of tanks,
just tell them to move to a point just past his defenses. If you tell them to
attack the defenses instead, they'll bunch up at maximum range and be
slaughtered. Declare a "Hold The Line" strategy and research the tank armour
upgrade first.

If he only builds 1 command centre try building 12 Aroras if you have time.
Send 8 to destroy the command centre and use the other 4 to destroy any
dozers that he has. Use any Aroras that survived the first attack to pick
off the rest of the dozers if you didn't get them all the first time then go
for the power stations. If you have a particle cannon you could use it
before the Aroras attack to try and knock out the power to the gattling
guns.

He has 1 command center and 2 dozers all the time, AFAIK it takes 1 aurora
to take out 1 dozer and 4-5 Aurora against command centers yeah?

wow, this tactic is a beauty

btw, it only takes 5 aurora's to destroy the command centre and 1 aurora for
each dozer...

this strategy is good most of the time, just not when he sends his migs to
my airfield :P
