as subject indicates,
I'm looking for a possibility to
play C&C Gold under Windows2000 .
Here in this ng once was a link to a site
which explained how to get it going.

Can anyone post or mail the link?


And another question:
Is C&C Gold installable under Win98,
which would be the second best solution,
although I would much prefer the W2K solution.

And another one:
Which files are needed to transform a German version of C&C Gold
into an English or US version, you know, the uncensored versions...

Hi Lee,

thanks for the link!

I followed the instructions,

and double-clicked the shortcut to Setup.
The setup bitmap and InstallShield
Wizard window pop up,
but at 100% gauge, a msg box pops
up saying 'Setup Initialization Error'.
After pressing ok, the setup program ends.

So I'm at a point where I can't even install C&C95 on W2K .

I have W2K SP4,
the CC Gold is the German version.

Do you have any further hints?

Is there a different installer available?
Or is the English/US version different to the German version,
except the language, bitmaps, and sound?

I'm sorry to say that i dont know of any other hints or tips that can help
you with this, i would say that you're best bet is to email the people at
planetcnc for help on the install
