I went over to the dark side (WoW) about 2.5 years ago. I am finally bored
with it and am thinking of playing D2 again. How much has the game changed
in the last couple years? I gave all my accounts away in the agd2 private
game when I quit, is the person I gave them to still playing and if so are
my accounts still active? I'd like to use the same account names if
possible. I have to find the disks before I can start again but I "think" I
know where my kid put them, lol. Anyways, hello again everyone and hopefully
I will be seeing you all again soon.

D2, to the endless consternation many, has not changed in any significant
way in the last couple of years.

Surely you know that a patch was promised six months ago that has yet to
even begin to materialize (because of WoW, they say)...

Tut Tut. Because of Warcraft 3 first, not because of WoW. Though
some of later delay was due to their worrying about the effect
increasing the stash size would have on battle.net, and admittedly WoW
accounts are in the process of being converted to battle.net accounts.
Though since War3, and Starcraft (and Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 when
they come out I imagine) are already on battle.net, I suspect how it
would effect them would be more to point as I would imagine WoW would
only be going through the battle.net authentication servers. Mostly.
At least until the next WoW expansion. Probably. ;p

I stand corrected and clarified. I didn't mean any slights, ;-)

Unless you deleted D2 from your computer, you don't need the disks to
play anymore. I currently have the WotLK disc in mine, and still play
D2 on the occasional Tuesday morning.

I've had probably 3 major crashes in the last 2 years, I never reloaded it
because I never play. I just spoke to my daughter and she has HER disks so
if she doesn't want to play then I can use hers.

LOL! Blizzard apologist! ;-)

Good to see you Ashen.
<rant>
Would you believe that my local library STILL doesn't have a copy of 'Rides
a Dread Legion'? I've been onto them for months and months. Apparently they
only source locally and the official importer ran out of hardback copies and
will only be able to supply paperback copies next month. I mean, FFS! It's
been out elsewhere for over 8 months! Not only that but they (library) don't
have the facility to reserve a book that they don't yet have so I had to go
in weekly for a couple months on a promise. Grrr! I might have to bite the
bullet ('cause if I do I won't have much else to bite) and buy the damn book!!!!!
</rant>

Whew!

Hope you're well,
