Not a bad run this time. Not an Um or Ist but still it was a Lem. Nice handy
rune to have. I have 2 of those now. I was also just up from where the forge
was in the RoF when i killed a Giant Lamprey and what did it drop??? Hel
rune. Nice. Hel and Lem within a few screens of each other. Nice run.

:-D

I did a NM forge and got a flipping Amn. An AMN! I was so pissed, I did a
countess run and kicked a chest and got a Sol and she give up an Ort and
Thul. So not really a bad game.

Congrats on your good run!

I too had a nice run in nightmare yesterday, starting when Duriel, of all
beasts, dropped a Ravenfrost. Then a chest in the flayer jungle threw up
a Fal, a pit lord dropped a Shael in the river of flame, three runs by
the forge for myself and a couple of mules yielded two Kos and a Hel
(boo, hiss!), and then one of Shenk's minions dropped an Amn.

I was especially pleased because that's the first Ko I've seen this
season, and I had an ethereal partizan just waiting for one. BINGA!

Mark.

I have three KOs and three FALs squirreled away to make me some Obedience
sticks. However, I havent found *one* eth 5 hole stick (or eth stick that
gets five holes from Larzuk (i.e. Thresher). Meanwhile my lvl 70 Pally's
merc dies like a mayfly using a rare stick with 6% LL and a max damage of
175. :-(

Ko and Fal are easier to acquire than a good eth pole,
especially if you don't detest trading (nothing in this category
will involved duped items anyway.) For this reason I think it's
worth making a non-ethereal Obedience if the wait is becoming a
little intolerable.

Actually I'm also in the same boat. I can't find an elite
ethereal pole that's usable, and so I'm still using either
non-eth Obedience/Insight or Insight on eth Bills in Hell.
Fortunately I still pick up small purples to cube them into fat
ones, so my mercs don't see a shortage of their potion supplies yet.

I have found an Eth CV with which i made an Insight but i'm yet to get 1
merc strong enough to wield it. LoL! 1 have 1 Ko, 1 Pul, 1 Um, 1 Ist, 5
Hels, 6 Io's, 2 Lems. Then ofcourse all the other kinda stuff. All muled. Um
is going to be directed to Duress once i get me a nice 3 socket armor for my
Paladin. I am still pondering what to do with the others. I need to get hold
of an Andy's Visage. Let merc wear that and maybe then he'll be able to wear
the Eth CV Insight. ;-) Nice going on the Ravenfrost find and Fal.

Try this Shaun:

Find an eth stick and give it to a mule who's still in normal and have him
get Larzuk to socket it. That usually gets me a 5-hole pole wherever I
originally got it.

1) Why would you want insight stick on a combat paladin's merc?

2) I have a 499 def Kraken Shell (174 str) and a 402 def Dusk if
you're interested. Too bad my other 3os armors are either
ethereal or way lower in defense.

My guess is because Insight is considerably hard hitting as well as
providing the Med aura, and since he hasn't found a 5 socket eth polearm for
Obediance or or a nastier brute, Insight is likely the hardest hitting
weapon available to him.

Thanks for that Mark. I'll give it a try next time I get an eth stick that
would normallt get a max of 6 holes.

Cheers,
