Default Raising a Pally

So I have a level 32 Pally wearing full Sigons with a 6 socketed
Crystal Sword - which is expensive as shit to repair, and wears down
fast. Anyway...about how long can I milk the Sigons? And when the
time comes, what's next? There's some items he could step into now,
but as usual with a full Sigons wearer, you can wear the set so damned
long you get mighty used to it and hate to give it up unless you know
that what you have waiting will not be a step backwards. So....if
this was your developing Smiter, what would you have ready to go on
him when the time to ditch the set comes?

Well, for armor, Duriel's Shell perhaps, until he can step into a
Duress.

Helmet: Tal's Mask perhaps until he's ready for the Guillaume's Face.

Weapon: for where you are, quite a few of the exceptional uniques are
nice.

Gloves: Laying of Hands, or one of the exceptional unique gloves.

Shield: I usually use an exceptional/elite 4 sockets shield with a lot
of +res and stuff PDiamonds in.

Belt: String of Ears is nice. Tundergod's Vigor too.

Boots: Goreriders. Or Goblin toe until you can wear 'em.

Regards,

Patrick.

Yeah, that's the tough thing about Sigon's, so many mods, but it's 6 parts,
and once you take the first one off, there goes some bonuses. A great early
set, but wins the award for hardest to part with, lol.

Funny thing, I was just looking at the Sigons mod's on Arreats before coming
here and seeing your post.

Actually, until then, Biggin's Bonnet is a good choice

Sure there is. I'll take an upped HoZ over an Exile anyday. +2 all skills
and 2 more combat skills, great resists, increased block, vitality...all
Exile has going for it is lifetap and higher defense. Defense is mostly a
joke stat, and Dracs provides the lifetap, so unless I'm doing PvP where tap
isn't frowned upon, HoZ rapes it mod wise. Beyond that, if I WAS going to
use an Exile, Vortex is the last I'd use. Zak shield has more consistent
damage(and very slightly bettter block), Sacred Targe has a fair bit more
block and a fair bit lower strength requirments, both of which are more
desirable to me than higher defense.

Yeah, I'd pick Verdungo's for general use, TGods if I needed extra lightning resist.

Although upping them doesn't really provide that much of a boost(small
defense increase, large requirement increase), so not really needed at all.

Brainfart from my side, too high level requirement (he did ask for
replacement gear for Sigon's for a level 32 Paladin...)

Opinions do vary on this.

I did not brainfart here, since Verdungo's has a lvl63 requirement.

Not at level 32.

Ciao, Patrick.
