....yet the lag gets WORSE? WTF?
Took SweetSpearGirl out for a spin today trying to get her up to level 76
(nearly halfway from 75 to 76 now, but it's going to take a while...). And
the lag spikes lasted 30 seconds, the TPs didn't cast, I had to alt-F4 once
because of a freeze that wouldn't even let me bring up the menu - oh, and a
lag death too. I'm this close to saying screw Battle.nuts and go back to
single-player...

I started playing HC a few months after LoD came out and played nothing else
since. When the lag started getting so bad several months ago I briefly
tried "regular" again, but no joy, it just doesn't do it for me, and I
haven't played at all in around a couple of months.

If/when Titan Quest wears thin, I guess I'll probably give SP HC a shot, but
it looks like realm play is over for me unless a miracle occurs and Bliz
finally does something to make the realms playable again. I'm not holding my
breath, though, because I'm not sure whether they even care or want to do
that.

Anyway, it was sure fun while it lasted, and I don't expect to ever see the
likes of it again.

Indeed, we won't see D2's like again. It's one of those truly immortal
games, like Quake 2 or Age of Empires. <g>
