1 have a 55 monk and druid, and was 2 boxing in jaggedpine (the gnolls) but
it's going cyan and i was hoping to try somewhere else. I noticed a lot of
the mobs in places like the LoY zones seemed immune to root and other zones
seem to have nasty summoners that ignore the monk and pound the druid to
death... can anyone think of a half decent duo spot?

I used to like the rockhoppers of DSP but people prefer the tribals...
there's a lot of farming of the entire cave system by lv 65 bards etc and
the resulting wave of destruction if they zone is appalling; i seem to get
on their hate list even if i'm ages away, and 20 tribals can smack you down
pretty damn fast.

if you're looking for XP places, only 2 I cna think of ATM is Skyfire (I
think that's it...duid has a port there and it's adjacent to The Overthere)
and Burning Wood.

I have a hunch that you're camping the entrance to the gnoll caves. There
are more gnolls that will stay mostly blue to you through level 57 deeper in
the cave. Follow the entrance corridor to the first chamber and take a
right. At the next chamber, take a right. That will lead down a long
corridor with a big rock in it. As you approach the rock, you will fall
through a trapdoor of sorts into an area with a number of gnolls that spawn
in fixed locations. These will mostly spawn as warriors who will be dark
blue through 57. The necromancers (forget their name) and shamans (Oracles)
will be light blue. Your best bet is to make the run with your Druid using
Improved Superior Camoflauge and Lev first to make sure of the route, then
have him come back and invis the monk. Be careful of "See Invis" gnolls
getting to the trapdoor area. The XP is wretched, but it is steady and
safe. Hopefully someone has a little better idea, maybe a place like Droga
or Nurga.

Those gnolls are very good money, but the xp can be slow. Two other
suggestions are Skyfire and, believe it or not, permafrost. The mobs up
near the entry to VP in Skyfire are still almost all dark blue at 60 and
are not hard to duo. (Watch out for the dispelling flying ones, though.)
Back in the old world, the caves in permafrost under Vox's digs can be
fun too, and still give xp IIRC. Been a while since I was there, though.
I do know one wizard who finished his push to level 60 in those caves
though, back in the day. In fact, I believe the insane bastard was
actually trying to quad down there.

Nadox works well, as does Torgiran's Mines. Both have rootable/snarable
mobs aplenty. --

POJ zoneout should be good xp for you. Its just pretty heavily camped
these days. Without a slower, this would be the only POP zone you
could try probably. Another idea might be Veksar zone in and do the
goblins. You might even score a soulshard (Ear slot +4 AC +5 Dex +5
Wis +15 HP +25 Mana ALL/ALL). Its been a while since I hunted in
Dulak. I seem to remember them snaring pretty decently and they didnt
summon.

A few other places to try:
Velks - its not heavily camped these days on Povar at least. Ground
floor mobs should be decent exp at 55 - it was the main exp spot for
55 to 60 pre whatever came next! Should be able to collect a healthy
supply of threads for your shawl too.

Kael - hang around the zone & pull to there. Mobs should be duoable
at 55, again I would DC there at 60 all the way from the arena to the
zone.

Fungus Grove - havn't been there in a while but it used to be pretty
good. I used to AE group there back in the day & solo it a 60 with
DC. 'Shrooms & Shadel could easily be single pulled but things in the
back had a habit of coming with friends. Plus it was tricky getting a
dc pet there.

Skyshrine - not so sure about that one. I used to spend time there
working my faction up & took my druid for company & exp. He got some
but wouldn't like to say how much.

Maidens Eye - possibly. Again it was a while ago since I hunted there
& you may have the same problem as DSP. Any of the shard zones are
going to be ravaged by 65's trying to get them.

Only thing to bear in mind with SoV zones is your faction. May be
less of an issue today but the faction based quests meant that hours
would be spent adjusting faction one way then another. If you guild
is raiding WToV, NToV, HoT may be worth avoiding the appropriate SoV
zones.

Velks, but maybe a bit busy at times.
Sebilis, Maidens eye, raptors (TD).
Skyfire is the right level, but too many chromodracs.
Down the bottom of the undead side of lower guk should still be dark blue
too. Good xp modifier here.
