Anyone ever play Microprose Falcon game any more?

Peeing on an electric fence is one of those life lesson you only have to be
taught once.

I've installed the game yesterday, and going through the training right
now... I'm what people call a «rookie» of the worst kind.

I'm learning landing right now, and crashed a couples of aircraft.
Too much to do, not enough time to do them all! LOL

Anyway, I'll continue practicing...

The radar modes give me fits - and yes, landings are a bit touchy! Much
more difficult that Flight Sim (Microsoft)

Landing is about the only thing I _can_ do (see other post).

I stopped playing some time ago. I progressed slowly, and got to a point on
deep missions where I was getting fed up with "Apex inbound!" BOOM.

There was just not enough I could do to avoid it. Certainly not enough
warning.

At best I was capable of wiping out a runway (barrel down it at very low
altitude on full reheat, then climb out before I was brought down by a
random AK47 shot. Other than that, I was using freefall bombs from altitude
or mavericks from standoff. I couldn't cope with anything needing laser
guidance.

And whenever I was on CAP - nothing happened for the whole mission. I'd have
to go looking for trouble at the end.

I take one small step at a time : now, I'm able to land quite safely... LOL
Next step is even trickier : landing with instrument...!
Aouch! This will take me a while, I can tell you!

I need no enemies at this point, no bullet, no missile. I can now crash on
my own!! =))

Yeh, me! I just installed it as well, bought it from Ebay. Did have the game
many years ago when it first came out, but didn't have the time to learn it
properly. Bit more time now. I've got quite a high spec machine, and the
graphics are amazing. Slight problems with sound and HUD display (can't read
the letters properly) Downloaded the official fix which cured the sound
problem. Checked out a couple of websites (many Falcon 4 website out there)
and downloaded a huge patch (SP4) Followed the very detailed install
procedure, but it didn't work when installed.

Anyway, enough of me blabbing on, good luck learning to fly, I've got quite
good at landing.....now have to learn to do instrument landing.

Same here, this time I've installed SP3, SP4 and the BMS patches with
sucess, I can now get into a Fighter Sweep or Moving Mud, but am
having trouble getting Tactical engagement to work, before I applied
the patches I just used to select whichever one I wanted and then
clicked on "Fly", now I can't see the "Fly" button.
Could anyone please help me?

Yeah! Me too! Recently bought Falcon 4.0 on Ebay and no clue how to patch
the game till I found this great site:
