I agree with RJ's intentionally n00b ramblings.

Too bad the music for normal battles ****ed, since you hear so much of it.

The musics near the end of the game were awesome...

-------------
"BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! BROCK LESNAR!!!!!" - Brock Lesnar
BROCK (BRAWK):
(1) Noun. The next big thing: BROCK is the WWE Undisputed champion.
(2) Verb. To yell "BLAAAA!!! BROCK LESNAR!!!" while doing a forward
flex, holding the flex position, contorting one's face and sticking
out their tongue: We BROCKed our bar; I love BROCKing people.

It was okay, but it wasn't great...

They really shouldn't have just transplanted the Radical Dreamers battle
music like that. The more original tunes in that game are far superior.

Also yep. And keeping in mind that I have never really understood
Mitsuda's popularity, and generally find his work to be unmemorable
(though competent), no one was more shocked than I.

Definately. And before CC came out, I would have said Xenogears.

Mitsuda is a billion times better than Uematsu.

Does his Xenosaga stuff actually ****, or do you just never hear it in the
right places, or too much of it in the wrong places, like with Xenogears?

"Homyguy Z" <amhaynes@bulldog.unca.edu> said in a deathly whisper...:

I was mostly disappointed by the OST, so I think it actually does ****.

'Generic RPG music' doesn't seem to be his forte. That's one of the reasons
I liked the Chrono Cross OST; a lot of the battle themes don't actually
sound like typical, carefully constructed battle themes with an emphasized
bass track and high-energy tension. The FATE and combined dragon themes have
more of a subdued, creepy ambient sound that I thought worked really well.
