Mainly, I've been going to college. FOR REAL COLLEGE WOW

For anyone who doesn't really know, it's a community college in the
same city I live in, my beginning classes are simple wussy classes
like high school level math (which I am confused by) and some biology
class, and then an important and meaningful medical terminology class
which I am actually interested in.

Anyway it's only a one year course and at the end, if I pass, I get
certification for medical transcription, so I can get a job. Compared
to all the other medical related classes possible, it's like the
lowest paying ever.

Anyway, it's going to be a slow year. The only thing I'm doing other
than school is waiting for games to come out. Halo PC in a few days,
then waiting for news about HL2. If possible, Max Payne 2.

Anything I do on the interweb is either at Caltrops, AMH, the o****y,
or my LiveJournal which is of course filled with incredibly stupid and
pointless updates meant for no one to read.

Falling asleep through Jhoh "RLOF" Cable's post...

That is so a women's job. Please leave your testicles at the door. We
need to stomp them to nothing, as you've already taken the soul out of
them.

Next week, we'll feed your penis to Hitman(msw), so he can have his penis
quota for the week.

I'm a few months away from finishing my third degree, which will officially
make me a physics and math teacher. If you're stuck, drop me an e-mail.
I'd like the practice helping someone through this sort of thing.

Three degrees and you wind up teaching? I mean, becoming a teacher is
admirable, but why do you need three degrees to do that?

The original plan was to get a Ph.D. in physics and do research. Then,
during my M.Sc., the tendonitis hit, and forced me to change careers to one
that doesn't require me to be on a computer all the time. (I was in
experimental particle physics.) I'd already realized that I enjoyed
teaching labs more than I enjoyed doing research, so this seemed like the
natural alternative.

One for physics, one for math, one for teaching. And yet the American
public school system still ****s a nice, fat, government ****.

Hrm. I think if I got a Masters and spent a year getting a teaching
diploma or whatever I could probably get a gig teaching pretty much
anything at high school level. I mean, teaching high school is mostly
crowd control, right? The rest is reading the textbook before class so
you're always one step ahead of your students. Man. I'd be a great
teacher. Incidentally, er, four years of training [Bachelor degree + one
year of what-the-****] is all you need to teach at high school level
here. Mind you, if you work a little bit harder and do honours instead
of the what-the-**** you can lecture at tertiary level [on the provisor
that you continue studying, perhaps]. That'd be a hell of a lot better,
I reckon.

Two for physics, one for education in my case, although I've taken all the
courses that would be required for an undergraduate math degree. And I'm
in the Canadian system, which generally comes out a few slots ahead of the
American system in tests by outside parties (including the Americans) that
compare education systems around the world.

That's junior high. In high school, if you get their attention and respect
at the start of the class, you can generally hang onto them for the rest of
the period. This is true to a degree in junior high, too. I did my
student teaching at the junior high level, and found that blowing things up
went a long way to holding the class's collective attention for the rest of
the period. (There was one student who was always the first to misbehave,
as though the rest of the class was waiting for his cue. I found that
grabbing his attention near the start of the class kept the other students
focussed where I wanted them to focus.)
