How does HL2 compare to Halo2 in sales?

We probably won't know until early next year.

You'll never really know, because Valve is a private company so you'll never
know the figures on Steam sales...

Except Valve want to promote Steam for other developers to use to
publish their work, so if the sales figures over Steam were good, it
would be in Valves interest to publish the numbers.

That's an assumption because the only numbers available at the moment
is the volume of units shipped.

First day of release of Halo 2, I went into GAME at about 4pm, and overheard
the shop assistants talking about having loads of copies left.

Day of release of HL2, by 11am all shops around here had sold out.

If that's anything to go by....

Not a fan of the Halo franschise, but are console games not generally much
more popular than PC games? I think HALO 2 sales will be better, for that
reason alone.

Sooooooo... I am going to be a fanboy and proclaim that Half Life 2 kicks
Halo and Halo 2's ass combined, thats without me seeing Halo 2, and only
half of the original Halo. I am that confident in the greatness of all
things Half life!
