Default Sound stutter problem (how to force sounds to precache in console)

Hello, I am experiencing sound stutters every now and again, while this is
not a major problem, it is annoying and detracts from oterwise smooth
gameplay.
I read somewhere that if you force the game to precache sound files this
cures the stuttering.
Does anybody know the console command to do this?
Thanks

Paul.

BTW my system is:
Athlon 3000+ 64
1gb Kingston memory
radeon rx9800 pro
Win XP pro SP1

Paul.

Last time I looked at the official news/forums there was a note saying they
were working on this. I would watch this space

Go here and read through 120 pages so far. There are several work-arounds
that may lessen the problem for some, but there is no fix and it's quite
doubtful at this time that Valve will be able to repair the bug. Quite a
disaster actually, which will hurt Valve's attempts to sell the source
engine to third parties, since Vampires Bloodlines seems to suffer from the
same engine bug.

I found this and tried it. Seemed to cure some of the stutter problems I'd
had.

I tried the game with the my sound card diabled as recommeded on the
steampowered site and it ran super-duper fast. Wish it was this smooth with
the sound on!
