Damn, everyone seems to get stuck here one time or another!!

Here my problem. I've done the car trick part, plus got the shotgun
from the old guy. Now I'm on a level that starts where you walk out of
a closed alley, and there is a constant burning fire on your right.
You are forced to turn left and then the level is before you.

Now right at the bottom end of the level you can jump up to the
rooftop to get some goodies - from here it is clear that you need to
move back to the start of the level, but at rooftop level. Now I need
to make a serious jump here, and I think I need to get a platform
(that's way to my left) to move using the cable and pulley system it
is suspended on. So I went to the room where the cable and pulley is,
but I cannot find any lever to make the thing move! I've also tried to
use the anti-gravity gun on everything I can think of and still no
luck on getting the platform to move.

Some help would be appreciated!
