Default Best way to keep up-to-date on romsets?

If there's a util I haven't found it. I notice with new updates I see
"No Good Dump Known" messages for some titles (Arkanoid Revenge of Doh
and Super Dodge Ball are two this is true of now), and I know that ROMs
get updated periodically, but how does one find this out? Do different
people work on different ROMs in teams and have their own websites
(Arkanoid Rom Group or somesuch)?

I mean, how do you know when a ROM has been updated -- preferably before
upgrading MAME to find out it doesn't work!

PS, I saw a thread about sound for Spiders...does it exist? That game's
a real blast from the past and would be thrilling with sound as I cannot
remember what it was like. On the same topic, sound for Pang Poms?

Eagerly awaiting Crack Down...I know this is a project and a half with
the System 24 board...have to get a Megadrive emu I guess to tide me
over.

Cheers for replies, this is my first ng posting in years.

Sean <sean@smaaron.demon.co.uk> who was caught burning roms
on vinyl record, immediately had this to say...

TODO:
* Add sound/samples

It has never used samples in the past, so you'll need to wait
for them to be either added or correctly emulated.

TODO:
* Hook up sound (uPD7810 CPU, OKI6295 and YM2413)

Again, you'll need to wait.

Cheers for this, however I have a Window-less household, so this utility
is not useful. I have been pointed in the right direction and will
soldier on.

Thanks for the feedback!
