Calling all Brits

Just a thought, but would a British version of this NG generate demand?

Yep I'm all for getting rid of the "Septics" and the "frogs" (with their
famous battle cry) RUN AWAY.. RUN AWAY......

So. How do we/I go about setting up a new NG? I haven't a clue. Anyone know
how to do this?

Yeah, I'll second that....
I did it myself about 6 years ago.

You have to justify the need for a new group (possibly falling at the first
hurdle in this case)
Then nominations, votes, RFD's (Request for discussion) blah blah blah....
....and more.

It's not easy, it's not guaranteed...and, IMVHO, it's not worth it.

retentive knobheads who have nothing better to do than sit on a sad lonely
newsgroup, picking fault with everyword you write.....

e.g If you don't format the request in the correct manner... then they wont
even consider it..... its like some bizarre ritual you have to go
through..... they are complete sad barstards in the extreme!!! the fact that
they monitor that group is sad enough.......

Fair point. I should have clarified - what I said only applies to certain
hierarchies of groups.
I started a 'uk' group. Other hierarchies such as; comp, misc, biz..etc may
have different formats.

Meanwhile the 'alt' groups, as you describe, don't seem to have any
organisation, structure or definitive method of creation.
A bit of a clanless free-for-all! :+) Hence the number
and...ahem...variety of them.

I can't see an 'alt.games.mohaa.uk.only group catching on somehow...

Well actually it might not make sense, but who are you or I to "restrict"
the use of the internet to anyone?

20 years ago ***s kissing on TV etc would have been an absolute outrage...
today it is comman place...............

My point being the internet shouldnt be governed by a bunch of ****
retentive paper pushers.

But.... I agree there comes a point where some "policing" is needed, but
where that point starts and finished is a huge gray area ..... that some
people are not socially, mentally and politically not equipped to do (take
the French Government) I mean they have banned the word "Email" jeeeeeeez
bleedin Frogs are nuts.........
