Am having a problem with 'Age of Mythology'

Setup is:

Acer Aspire T310
P4 (2.80ghz)
512Mb RAM
DVD-RW
Radeon 9200 128Mb

When starting AOM I get a cursor but nothing else although the music plays
in the background. Monitor is an Acer AL1701 LCD. All other things play as
normal.

Any suggestions as to why it is not showing when I start the game?
