Default PC version - steering wheel sensitivity issues

Anyone on a PC using an actual wheel/pedal USB device? I have the
Nascar Pro Digital II and it works and is recognized, but it is SO
sensitive, the slightest move of the wheel has
the car turning all over the place. Other games similar to this either
have a sensitivity
adjustment within the games menus, or even a file to tweak to correct
this.

Anyone know of a solution to this? Without it, I'll return the game
since I'm not using
the keyboard for a pure driving game, and a game paddle on a PC is
out...I have a nice
Nascar device that works on all other driving games but this.

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same sort of issue with a Saitek joystick which works
perfectly well on all my other driving games because they allow a 'dead'
zone to be specified at the centre of the x & y axes.

With NFSMW I have had to disable the y axis and use fire buttons for
accelerator & brake. The x axis steering is not bad now that I've had a few
hours practice with it but I hope EA's first update for this game gives the
facility to tweak for controller sensitivity.

Thanks. I'll try that when I get home. In the meantime, I -did- post
an email into
EA Support to see if they would have any official answer. If it's
positive, I'll let you
know.

I have no problem with mine, however, check out the car tuning sectino, it
has a bar for steering, you may be able to use that to adjust it.

Will do. I didn't check there at all. I'll see if that helps also.
Thanks.

Good suggestion, but the steering adjustment only slows down the steering
effect in the game, so instead of slamming off the road through moving the
controller a millimetre too far you slam into whatever is straight ahead as
the game doesn't respond quickly enough to turn the car.

Thanks anyway Midnight.

What steering adjustment are you guys talking about? For the life of
me, I couldn't find it (but maybe it is not available on the beginning
cars)?

Steering adjustment is one of the settings in the Performance Tuning menu
for each individual car, accessible from the pause menu.

I just wanted to close this given I think I have a good enough
workaround.

One thing that -did- help some was recalibrating my steering wheel in
the windows control panel. I noticed that I wasn't
getting the full range given it hadn't been plugged in for awhile.
However, even with that, driving was still somewhat of a bear,
and the response was over-exaggerated such that I was crashing all over
the place. I was about to return the game tomorrow,
but I did try one thing tonight.

I actually just changed the view when I'm driving from the default
(when the car is in front of you), such that
now I have just the hood showing in front of me (like I'm sitting in
the car). With that, I suddenly noticed the response on the
wheel was not as exaggerated (probably given the perspective the game
now was dealing with).

Anyways, I was actually able to drive pretty damn well. I finished a
few challenges I wasn't able to, and actually drove for
15 minute solid with pretty damn good control.

I'm happy now. Just so I have the driving with that view, the response
is "different" and not as "touchy".

Thanks for both your inputs. It all helped in one way or another.
Cheers!
