Is there a way, other than the lab, to change the *** of a neopet?

Strange Potion or very rarely in a fight with the lab guy in battledome
M.

I tried several times fighting with the lab guy and each time he changed
gender of my pet.
So maybe I was lucky, or maybe it's not that rare after all.
